LAURA HOLLAND
Health Care Design

Pursuing the Gerontology Graduate Certificate gives me the opportunity to hone my skills in tandem with my Master's degree in Healthcare Design.

The knowledge I am gaining from integrating courses from a gerontological perspective gives my schoolwork more depth and relevance.

The Interdisciplinary Seminar in Gerontology has exposed me to valued perspectives from different disciplines, which has deepened my understanding of how different fields collaborate to strengthen the well-being of older adults.

I am very grateful to have the opportunity to learn from prominent fixtures in the field of gerontological study.

The Gerontology Certificate program has helped me to touch the lives of others in meaningful ways in my work as a counselor, educator, co-director and CEO, and advocate. The learning and relationships gained from the program have been priceless.

Counselor

The gerontology certificate has given me numerous skills when working with my older patients such as educating them on the normal process of aging and linking them with case management services . The certificate has given me the opportunity to educate caregivers on resources such as hospice, home health services and additional resources that can lessen the physical, emotional, and financial hardships that come with caregiving. Without the knowledge and skills that I learned throughout the certificate program, my work with my older adult patients would not be as effective.
